Last Stand for Forest - We are in a climate and biodiversity crisis. Only 2.7% of B.C.’s original productive old-growth forests remain standing. B.C.’s Old Growth Strategic Review Panel urged an end to old growth logging yet the government continues to stall. Protests against old-growth logging in the South Vancouver Island region of British Columbia escalated through late 2020 and into 2021, 2022. Many coalescing around the Fairy Creek watershed, these events represent a critical moment in BC's recurring history of conflict related to ecological values and the forest industry. ​
Like many of us, I spent a beautiful and life-changing time protecting the Fairy creek blockade in 2021 and financially supported them. This issue is really important to me and I will continue to fight and support the movement.

Sierra Club BC inspires generations to defend nature and confront climate change, so families, communities and the natural world can prosper together. Nature needs time and space to adapt as climate change disrupts species and ecosystems. Sierra Club BC work to protect B.C.’s forests, watersheds and at-risk species to prepare for climatic shifts already underway.

Deforestation of rainforests was a very close topic to me since I was a little child and it never let me go. In my early twenties, I decided to not support any products containing palm oil, my journey took many years to change my habits. Through Palm oil watch I was part of several campaigns of contacting companies to stop using palm oil. You can make change right now.
